Dear Dr. Katz: I am having trouble getting rid of my bad breath. Is there any advice you can give me. I have had sinus surgery twice. My stomach has been checked. My dentist has cleared me, but still nothing has solved the problem. I have tried all solutions so far (except yours). I have tried Sino-Fresh products – No Help and Oxyfresh stuff – No Help. All kinds of products but nothing helps me. For eight years my life has been a living hell because people treat you like an animal. I am a Pastor and a salesman and I need your help. No one else is willing to listen.

Dear Dr. Katz:
I have noticed this since 1995, and I cannot get rid of the problem, at the present I am using peroxide on a daily basis, and scraping my tongue, today I sent in for your products, and I feel desperate at this time. I avoid talking or getting close whenever possible. I won’t even french my husband, because I am afraid I will infect him with this horrible bacteria. I hate it so much.

Hello. Can you help? I am a 27 year old female in very good physical shape with excellent dental practices. I brush 3 times a day, floss daily, use a tongue scraper as well as mouthwash and chew gum frequently yet I still have bad breath. It consumes me. I think about it all the time and avoid talking to people for fear of them noticing. I am married and have a wonderful husband but due to my halitosis we very rarely kiss. I feel like I am missing a very big part of life. I do seem to have post nasal drip. Could this be the cause? My doctor prescribed a nose spray for me but this caused my nose to bleed. Can you please help. Thank you so much for your time.
Sincerely, H. P.
Hi. I have had chronic bad breath for years. The testimonials sound very convincing. I have ordered this product I am praying that this will answer my prayers. I have heard so many cruel things from people who don’t know all the things that I have gone through to have fresh breath. I have tried listerine, scope, breath assure capsules. I have also gargled in peroxide. I have also been to many dentists and they have said that I have a good oral hygiene. I have also quit my job due to the torture of jokes and harassment. I also have thought about suicide. I also have been to a ear, nose, and throat dr. I have been through everything in all your testimonials. I am praying that this will work. Oh I have also stop going to church over this.
I just ordered your product. I pray that it is the answer to my prayers and my problem. I’ve used Oxyfresh products for nearly 6 years now and they have not worked. I have seen the ad for TheraBreath in magazines but summised that it couldn’t be any different so I never ordered it. When I went on the web today, researching halitosis, I came across the internet ad and read the testimonials and saw myself over and over and over again. You feel isolated and alone. And though I am not glad to hear of the people in the testimonials heartache, it is good to know that I am not alone. I work for the biggest, oldest insurance company in XXXXX and just passed the test to be licensed as an agent and I am so afraid of losing my job to this ………., I have dubbed a social handicap. What do I have to lose but this awful stale, stagnant stench which has permeated my life, lingering and clinging like a parasite draining me of my self worth, self confidence and self image. I ordered it next day so tomorrow I should know something. I’ll let you know.
Dear Dr. Katz:
I am about 50 years old. I suffer from bad breath for about 10 years. I’ve seen your website which gave me some hope of curing. Although I read most of the cases that used your products, but still I think my case is different and incurable.
First I visited more than fifteen doctors in different specialties: ENT, Gland specialists, dentists, gastro, physicians and psychiatrists. I went through all possible check up and tests for different parts of my body specially digestive and respiratory systems. Everything was normal!
Doctors say it’s just a phobia to have such a feeling of bad breath. All people around me indirectly tell me how disgusting my breath is. They either draw back, cover their nose or have unpleasant expression on their face, the thing that makes me very unhappy, depressed, complexed and disappointed. My job as a teacher needs a lot of contact with my students to either explain lessons or check their books. I am obsessed by the bad feeling and I try as much as possible to keep away and not very close. It’s a very annoying feeling that makes my life very miserable. My husband and children never admit it in words but I feel how disturbing my presence next to them is.
I gave up seeing doctors and I am an excessive person in caring for my cleanliness. I almost made my mouth very sensitive to hot and cold by the over brushing and rinsing. Food and drinks are my enemies as they result in more bad breath after having them but still they are inevitable. I put on a lot of weight because of depression.
Please I am waiting for your advice and suggestions ready for what so ever you say to save my life and stop my worries.
Whilst I’m really impressed by what I have read so far on your web site (particularly re the Tonsiloliths – I have lived with severe tonsilitis twice every year and constantly had these stinking cheesy deposits secreted within the swollen tonsils…….they eventually removed my tonsils at the age of 35 ! Not to be recommended !).
However whilst I’m confident you have accurately described my condition, I am very concerned to know it this condition can be cured permanently or has to be treated constantly to keep it at bay.
I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible, and sincerely hope this condition doesn’t require constant treatment, as this would be utterly cost prohibitive.
Kind regards, T.L.
Dear Dr. Katz,
I am 25 yrs old, and have had a problem with my breath for at least 10 yrs. I am very particular to take good care of my teeth and gums, and my dentist confirmed that the odour is not as a result of poor oral hygiene. The problem has become progressively worse over the years, and my breath is bad at all times -even after I eat. What should I do? I’ve been to doctors and dentists, and no one can help. Is there really a cure? I’ve reached the point where I feel only a miracle will solve the problem. Why does my breath smell? Please reply to my e-mail. Any advice you you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
I have always had excellent dental history. So I assume that the root of the problem is from the back of my mouth – Tonsils or tongue. I have tried a tongue scraper but it does not seem to make much of a difference.

Hello. I had laser surgery several years ago to remove enlarged tonsils that had pockets that collected a white substance. This substance tasted terrible and smelled the same. I was not happy with my surgery since the problem still exists. Can you please tell me what causes the white stuff and how can I get rid of it? I would appreciate any help that you can give. This is so embarrassing to talk about.
I read about your product TheraBreath in Men’s Journal. I smoke an occasional cigar (3-4) per week. My wife does not like my breath after smoking. Will your product do something about short term problems like “cigar breath”. I have tried several other products without success.
Thank you, RBH

The smell from my husband’s breath is so strong it fills the car – I can’t bear to hold a conversation with him across a table. It is not just stale “coffee breath” – it smells like something’s died in there – seriously….a putrescence. What can be done ? I’m at my wits end – I can’t carry on with a marriage like this – all I do is avoid him – I move from room to room in the house, I can’t talk to him in the car – He is on anti-hypertensive drugs for his high blood pressure- but the our dentist can find nothing wrong in his mouth I can’t emphasize how serious this is. I may be shallow – but I can’t bear the idea of another 25 years of this – please advise. We’re in the UK, and so couldn’t visit a clinic in the states.

I am writing to ask if the multiple oral conditions I’m experiencing could be related. I have been experiencing, off and on, for the past year an occasional metallic taste, a lessening of taste and firm globs of white material in the back of the throat. The first two symptoms are new the past year but the globs of material I had when I was much younger (8-15yrs. old).
I’ve always had a dry mouth, but no one ever told me I had bad breath until I started dating my fiancee. I’ve tried scraping my tongue without success. I am also taking the following medications: Flonase, Claritin (PRN), Ortho-Cept, Plus my doctor put me on antibiotics to get rid of the bad breath (but it made it worse).

I have had gum surgery, I have had root canal, I have had head scan, I have removed a tooth, I have respectfully done anything my various dentists have told me and still experience some sort of bad breath. What do you think is the problem?
My problem is coming from my throat. I can feel things when I swallow and occasionally I can cough them up. They are small (about the size of child’s tooth), off white and smell like bad breath. I can feel a thickness near my adams apple. I believe this is where the odor is coming from.
C.F., Baltimore, MD 32 yr old female.
Well, I’ve been dealing with my bad breath for about 25 years. Since I was in Middle School I noticed I had a problem with my breath. I used to drink milk in the morning and stopped thinking that was the problem. Through the years I made changes in my eating habits trying to find a solution. I have spoken with my general Doctor and Dentist about this condition and none seem to have an answer. The situation has caused a great deal of pain in my life. I suffered a lot has a teenager. Never had much of a life. I got married but was very uptight all the time trying to clean up and have my breath has fresh as I could. I did not like anyone too close. I felt very uncomfortable because I didn’t want them to notice. That created problems in my relationship with my husband. I am divorced now. I don’t know if my condition had to do with it. I always have to have gum or mints with me. I feel very unsecure about my breath. The dentist office where I go had a sign that said “No more Bad Breath” I thought I had finally found the answer to my problem. I called the office and they explained what it was. It was some products called Oxyfresh. I had read an article about it and thought this for sure was my solution. I bought it, used it, but the difference was very little. I then became so discouraged and didn’t ordered it again. I know I have a problem and I need a solution. I am a problem solver and this condition has frustrated me for so long because I haven’t been able to find a solution. I have used Listerine, Scope, and Colgate Total without any success. I just ordered the TheraBreath Products and the breath kit. I have prayed so much asking the Lord to guide me on the right direction to find a solution. I’m hoping this is the answer to my prayers.

Dear DR Katz:
I can not believe i am writing but my breath is a problem that has concerned me recently and nothing i am doing is remedying the problem all the mail i read sounds so familiar I can not believe there is a name for the white things people have described in their letters to you the best is the one who described them as off white things that are the size of a child’s tooth and they smell like bad breath i think they smell more like vomit! But this is exactly the problem i have and i have resorted to poking the back of my throat with q tips till i gag with the hopes of recovering bits of this fowl stuff in the back of my throat! it is horrible and i fear i may puncture something as i rarely stop till i create blood to appear on the tip if the q tip “tonsil stones” are what you have referred to them as in a writing piece of yours but what do i do about this will a product really help or is removing the tonsils the complete remedy for such a horrible thing to deal with Please write me back and offer some advice or comments all of the sentiments i read about apply to me as well amazing how bad breath can really effect so many avenues of life the woman who wrote about her avoidance to French kiss is what I can relate to the best and i desire to kiss passionately but can not! please respond with any advice you may have for this horrible problem.
People have commented on by breath since I was a kid. Now I’m in a relationship with a wonderful man and it makes kissing and loving difficult. I can tell when he’s avoiding my face trying not to bring it up and cause me to feel bad. I brush an floss everyday. My gums are healthy. Your comments about lactose intolerance make a lot of sense, because I am lactose intolerant. I once had a homeopath say that my liver was stealing chi from my lungs, but the remedy I took didn’t make any difference. I really want to be kissable!

About 5 years ago, I went to the Doctor, she noticed that I had a bacterial infection in my mouth through a culture. She gave me some medicine, i took it, and never followed up on it. Now, I have this draining sinus problem, and an odor that I cant smell, and I have been told that it smells like feces. I can’t smell it, nor can i get rid of it. My dentist hasnt a clue of what to do. I scrape my tongue on a regular basis. It comes right back. Nothing helps! Now Im using ProFresh which doesnt work. Neither does Colgate.

Dear Dr. Katz:
History of my problem: Briefly, my halitosis have been isolated me from socializing with people, embarassment, and totally lost confidence and self esteem. Breath Self-Tests: 1. Have high level of sulfide or thick white coating on my tongue. Most of the time, this thick white coating turns into yellowish stain. 2. Yes, do notice an odor. 3. Yes, I do smell a foul odor on the floss, but I am 100% assure you that this is not due to cavity because I do not have cavity. 4. Yes, I do have thick whitish stuff at the very back of my tongue. 5. No need to do this because I know that I still have halitosis. 6. This is very true and is applicable to me. 7. A dentist did use halimeter to test my halitosis, but never cured my problem so I quitted visiting him. If you able to cure my halitosis problem, I will call you God Katz and worship you for the rest of my life.
A.T. , 28 yr old male
P.S.: I only use Retar Dex and Retar Dent. They only reduce bad breath temporary, but they NEVER cured my bad breath and NEVER got rid white coating on my tongue.
I’ve had friends offer me mints, gum, etc. My husband says I don’t have bad breath. He doesn’t kiss me as much but probably won’t hurt my feelings about telling me the truth. It’s upsetting to see friends laughing and making comments to each other and offering me mints, I left a party because I felt embarrassed.
39 yr old female, Boston, MA
I can smell an odor when I floss. Also, the drool test on the pillow. Needless to say, I wash my pillowcases frequently. My boyfriend has begun to kiss me less and less, and has gone so far as to say that he often gets a sore throat after “involved” kissing. I even use Peroxicare and Tom’s of Maine products, but they just don’t help.
B.D., 32 yr old female, Michigan
I’ve had bad breath for a long time, and it prevents me from normal, comfortable interaction with others. Breath test showed bad smell on cotton, despite using Profresh from Dr. Richter in Philadelphia and also Colgate and Listerine prior to Profresh.
T.R., 39 yr old male
I’m with this big problem of bad breath from about 5 year ago, and i think i’m going crazy because nothing that I been taking works, and the doctor says that I’m o.k. that I just have to do gargles with baking soda because all the medicines that she prescribed me didn’t work. Scope and Listerine do not work.
R.D., California, 24 yr old female
Dear Dr. Katz,
Since last February, my boyfriend has occasionally kissed me and then immediately asked, “Did you have onions [or garlic] today?” It became so noticeable to him that I stopped eating potentially offensive foods whenever we were together; he still noticed the problem, so I stopped eating these foods days before I would see him. Still, he detected a taste/odor whenever he kissed me. (No one else in my life has commented on my breath.) I’m wondering how such a specific odor — onions and/or garlic — could be caused by bacteria on the tongue or in the mouth. Wouldn’t that bacteria cause a generally unpleasant odor, as opposed to a specific food odor? Could this kind of specific odor be caused by bacteria in the mouth?
Thank you. Hope to hear from you soon!
I’ve always had and been completely self conscience of very bad chronic breath. I cannot go to meetings without spending about 1/2 hour brushing, flossing, rinsing etc etc. I carry around a case full of all this stuff and do the ritual 5-6 x a day but I still always have chronic, foul breath. No one will come close to me and always back away or stay away all together. it is out of control and I need help, but Dentists and perodontists simply tell me to brush more and want nothing to do with it. I have scrubbed and brushed so much that I have gum erosion around most of my teeth. PLEASE HELP!! [Total, Crest, and Listerine did not help]
J.B., 37 yr old female
Dear Dr. Katz:
I WAS TESTED BY (a doctor) and He SUGGESTED TO use PROFRESH… BUT NO Improvement. I had used Colgate Total and Listerine in the past without success either.
S.V. San Jose, CA, 35 yr old male.
This has been a life-long problem. My mother used to scold me and push me aside for not brushing my teeth properly. My teachers counseled my parents to buy me mouthwash. My classmates made fun of me. I have compensated by continuously having gum or mints in my mouth. I would NEVER be caught without them. (Of course, I was then penalized in school for chewing gum.) It has been a very debilitating handicap, and if you could advise me, or help me eliminate this problem, it would change my life dramatically. I would also like to help my son. We don’t talk about our mutual problem to each other, because we are both deeply sensitive about it, but the other day, I noticed that he was carrying cloves around with him and was chewing on them. My heart went out to him because I realized that he is following my path of researching “cures” and being given bogus advice. It’s sad. I read about your product descriptions, but I am not sure where to start. Please advise.
Thank you so much!
I have had chronic halitosis for many years. I have tried many over the counter brands which do not work. I brush at least 5 times a day and I floss twice a day. The over the counter products that I use seem to contribute to the problem instead of solve it. I have had 3 root canals over the course of ten years. I have some large fillings. I have not had a new cavity or filling in 20 years. I chew sugarless gum, and the dental gum (BreathAsure) that is on the market now but I stopped because the problem became worse. I have also tried the Biotene products which did not work for me.
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.
However , My Problem is that I have two extra little bodies like small peas in each side of my mouth near my tonsils and close to the back of my tongue. If I touch them they bleed quickly and they always has some white or yellow little peaces in them. The white or yellow things smells bad and that what causes me to have a bad breath all the time.
Please, Help me out!
My dentist gave me a product called BreathRx, which burned the insides of my mouth. I was unable to use it for more than 2 days, plus it didn’t work when I did use it.
A.S., Wilmington, DE
I am having a problem that is beginning to overwhelm me. For the last 4+ months I’ve begun to have a burning sensation on my tongue that sometimes extends to my throat. I wear a partial plate, and the problem is worse when it is in. The problem comes and goes, but is now almost continuous. When it started, I went to my dentist who prescribed a root planning regimen. The problem would flare up after these sessions. He also prescribed Periodex which really causes the burning to increase. Lately, when the burning gets really bad, I see a white coating on my tongue which when scraped off, feels sticky. My tongue also looks yellow. I’m a 57 year old male and had my annual physical about 4 months prior to this problem. All indications are that I am healthy, and I went back to see if my doc had an answer. He told me to get rid of the plate and the Periodex.
I read your internet site. Although you have some information on what appears to be my problem, your products seem to be primarily for bad breath. I am confused, in pain, and alarmed. Can you suggest something?
Hi i have a question. My Fiancee’ had gum surgery a few years back. Today his gums are very sensitive and bleed easily. I have noticed that he does have bad breath, sometimes worse than others. He is trying to quit smoking and brushes and uses mouth wash however the problem persists. Since he has cut down on smoking the situation has gotten much better. However the bad breath is still visible. He is terribly afraid of going to the dentist because of his past experiences with the pain.
Can you offer some helpful hints? Would this product be useful? Also is it possible that his gum problem affect his sinus congestion? I appreciate your time and help.
my problem comes from my nose. my husband says that when i breath near him , i have a foul oder coming from my nose. I do not have a stuffy, or runny nose. Since my tonsils were removed in July I occassionaly get a tickle in my throat that causes a dry cough. However for no apparent reason I chronically have the oder coming from my nose. do you have any that treat the nose?
I was about to see a doctor about this problem thinking that it might be sinuses because I occasionally feel a bubble or two pop off between my nose and pallet. I hope this stuff works. I have been alone a very long time.

From a 33 year old woman in Kenner, LA.:
My Mother has the same problem. Hers started in her late 20’s as did mine. We have both been to several dentists and I have gone so far as to have 2 sinus surgeries but have refused to have my tonsils remove although that is what is recommended by my ENT. I really need help with this problem. I work behind a computer all day and it is very humiliating.
From an 18 year old woman in Slidell, LA.:
I have had this problem since the 5,6th grade. I was too embarrassed to talk to anyone. I tried everything on the shelf and nothing seems to work. I tried brushing my teeth over and over, 2 times in the morning, afternoon, and night. nothing at all. I started scraping my tongue but it made my papile (spelling) worse. my tongue is never red anymore, even after i finished scraping. Hmmm, I am sooo lost. Help Me PLZZZ. Your “Breath Self-Test” helped. I used a guaze and I did find yellowish stuff on it and on my hand there was a slight smell. I see people rub their noses when I talk to them and move a little back. I know it smells, but they don’t understand where I am coming from. I know you guys can help me. PLZ E-mail me soon as possible. Your my last hope.
P.S. Don’t put this on the internet. Especially my name. please. Well, actually, you can put my paragraph, just not my name. Thanks. I know you’ll understand. THANKS A MILLION !!!!!
From a 23 year old male in Baton Rouge, LA.:
I always seem to have a bad taste in my mouth. Even after brushing and rinsing, it never feels fresh. I am very self conscience and paranoid that when someone backs away it is because of my breath.
From a 24 year old woman in Northern California:
My breath has been bad all my life. It’s interfering with my relationship and giving me a bad reputation. I back away from people often; sometimes unconsciously. Help!! I want to happily kiss my man.
From a 21 year old woman in Miami:
There is nothing in the world that I want more than a fresh breath. I do not want to worry about any mints and gums anymore.I just brushed and tested still was not that good. Please give me your best advise and treatment. I really appreciate your quick responds.
From a 19 year old in Johannesburg, South Africa:
It started roughly 6 months ago, and nothing seems to help. I’m a little shy to go to my dentist, and I don’t know how I should tell him. The self-test result indicates that I have a problem, but only when I floss between my back teeth. Could you please send me some advice as soon as possible, and maybe suggest products which are available here in South Africa? I would greatly appreciate it!
From a 30 year old female in Tennessee:
I have had the problem with the globs coming from my tonsils for the past 5 yrs. I also have enlarged tonsils and there seem to be more than usual in the back of my throat. I can smell the foul odor that these globs put out. It is gross. I have to push on the things in the back of my mouth to get these out. Then they bleed and hurt. I would appreciate any help you can give me on this. I have looked in several medical books for this problem and cannot find anything. I brush my teeth every morning and before going to bed. I also brush my tongue. Brushing my teeth makes me gag, sometimes so bad I have vomit come up in the back of my throat. I don’t like brushing because of this.
From a 34 year old female teacher in Alexandria, Louisiana:
Always told as a child that I needed to clean system out. People turn away or cover nose when I talk. Offered mints by spouse and son. Overheard students say teacher has bad breath. Self test (floss through teeth) showed odor.
From a 32 year old woman in Vancouver, Canada:
When I was a small child my sisters told me my breath smelled. I started trying to brush better, but nothing seems to help. I smoked for many years and thought when I quit that it would help, no such luck. People do back away from me, and even gag. I know it is very bad. I tried the Self-Test on the back of my hand but didn’t notice any smell. My dental hygienist said I don’t have a problem, but I know I do. Ten minutes after brushing I can tell it is back. Also, the back of my tongue is very coated.
From a 42 year old male in Biloxi, MS:
I feel a constant presence in the back of my throat – phlegm like. No matter how well I brush my teeth, tongue & gums, floss, and gargle even shortly after having my teeth cleaned, I wake up with and am constantly fighting bad breath all day. If I’ve skipped a meal, or gone too long between my wife tells me that I have ketone breath. I can feel that mouth wash, parsley pills, and various mints only have a very temporary affect. I believe this problem started about 10 years ago, and has progressively gotten worse. My description and that of my wife of the smell is best described as trash or compost breath. I’m thinking about having my tonsils removed, but would prefer to try alternative methods first.
From a 25 year old female in Baltimore:
I have had this problem for about four years. It is steadily getting worse. I have gone to the dentist who has told me that they do not smell anything. It has gotten to the point where one can smell it while I am sleeping and it is very embarrassing and yes my self-esteem has diminished a little because of this problem. I live on the east coast and I would like to know where in my state in particular could I get some help for this problem? I don’t know what to do I am at wits end.
From a 34 year old woman in Houston, TX:
I believe my problem may be complicated. I’ve had bad breath since I was about eight years old. At the time, I took no medication. It seems like I’ve tried everything, and this problem has caused and is causing me much grief. I brush, floss, rinse and still comments have been made to me from time to time, especially family members. I often wonder if I have a metabolic problem or some respiratory problem or an allergy related problem I know I have bad breath. People back up from me, offer me gum or mints, and people have just flat out told me. Please help me, or refer me to somebody that can. Because of embarrassment, I avoid social events.
From a 25 year old female in Wisconsin:
It is just a constant embarrassment to me. I’m afraid to get too close to people or even talk to them because I know the odor can travel as I speak!!!
I am just one of many who suffer from chronic bad breath. This has been an ongoing problem with me for no less than 20 years – I’m 39. There are actually times when I can smell the odor myself and it’s really offensive. I have tried so many different approaches to dealing with this problem that I have pretty much completely lost hope in finding a solution. I have invested money and time into the Richter program, Trioral mouth rinse, tongue scraping, several Peridontists and many other products and methods to no avail.
One dentist stated that my bones were infected but there was no evidence to support this theory. Moreover, through many trips to the dentist I have lost quite a few teeth and a considerable chuck of my jawbone. I am now convinced that the problem was not in my teeth or bones since both were healthy and free of disease. I brush and floss many times a day but there’s never an instance of fresher breath just that personal peace of mind knowing your mouth and teeth are clean.
I underwent an Upper Gastrointestinal exam and the results were negative.
However, the specialist did discover inflamation in my stomach but the biopsy came back negative. He stated this could be the source of the odor but according to him there was no panacea. Besides he expressed absolutely no concern for my condition and went so far as to say that it was probably psychological.
On another occasion I discussed the same condition with my Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist and he thought the source was my sinuses. After endoscopic sinus surgery my condition was unchanged. Next, he was 95% sure it was my tonsils but after I had them removed there was still no change in the odor.
In spite of all I’ve done to help myself and the disappointments endured, once again, I find myself giving hope to another product. Before I invest into TheraBreath products do you believe your product can help me? Have you treated anyone who did not respond to treatment? What would you recommend I do? I am running out of organs. Thanks for taking time to read this and I anxiously look forward to your response.
I was wondering what causes m bad breath? I am 17 and i have had bad breath since i was 14. It is constant all the time-even after i brush my teeth it starts to get bad again. It is a feces like smell and it tastes very bad in my mouth, what could be causing it?
I feel that my breath is worse when my sinuses are draining and definitely seems worse when my stomach is empty (when it has been a long time since I have last eaten). In the past I have had no success with RETARDent, Crest, Aquafresh, Scope, and Listerine.
S.M. Ohio, 32 yr old female
Hello, I have a problem where people I trust say that my breath has what seems to be a fecal smell. This is hard, because I can’t smell it but all I know is that my mouth has sort of a musty feeling and smell to it and is sort of dry and pastey.
I’m on no medication but I currently take vitamins and supplements and an internal cleanser (herb and fiber tablets). I don’t eat a lot of onions and garlic and I don’t drink any alcohol.
I purchased the Oxyfresh kit – and mouthrinse with zinc. I used my own water pik with the mouthrinse in it. I liked the way the mouthrinse felt (sweet) but I get the dry and pastey feeling back in my mouth after awhile even with drinking lots of water. Even before using any breath products I was sensitive to the toothpastes with baking soda or those tartar control ones — dried my mouth out even more and caused sloughing in my mouth. Although I didn’t realize right away that it was the toothpaste causing it. I had my tonsils taken out, and yes, after taking out my tonsils, I don’t have that weird tonsilith odor but I still have bad breath. Why is my mouth pastey an hour later? And what is that fecal smell in my mouth?
My name is xxxxxxxxxx and I live in Taiwan. Because I can’t speak good English but I will to try describe my problem.
I had halitosis many years, My mother tell me the odor like feces, I have use towel to clean my tongue and have stench, I guess the stench is come from tongue, The stench is very serious in night and I find a white coating on my tongue. Is a bacterium in my tongue? Is my saliva too less?
Does any medicine or product can to treat my problem?
Can you give me a hand?
Thank you very much.
How are you? I’m doing o.k. I’ve been wanting to e-mail since awhile now, but I didn’t know exactly how to express myself. Let me explain. I’m a 24 year old college student and I have a really big problem–bad bad bad breath. (I’m sorry, if it grosses you out. I mean knowing that you have to deal with people like me most of your life.) I’ve had this problem since I was a teen, but it seems like now it’s just taken a turn for the worse. I recently got a job offer here on campus in a really exciting department, but I did something I never thought I’d come to. I turned it down because I new eventually my supervisor would get annoyed by my problem.
My situation is very pathetic, I know. I’m not imagining I have this problem. I’m not blind to people reactions. My sister is a registered nurse and I know she would never say anything on purpose just to hurt my feelings. I’m frustrated with my situation because I hope to apply to school of osteopathic medicine and I don’t see how in the future I’ll be able to treat patients on a one to one basis with this problem.
I’ve gone to many “so-called” different specialists. I even had surgery on my sinuses shortly before I turned 20 because my incompassionate and terribly frustrated doctor said it was attributed to that. I tried all sorts of products and nothing works more than five minutes and then I’m back to my old self, again. That’s why when I found your site just by chance, I was so excited because you explained things so well. I understood what my problem really was. I believe you really want to help. Dr. Katz, I can not see another year like this. Please, don’t get me wrong. I just want to find a solution to this problem and perhaps you can help.
Needing your help from Texas.
