Don’t Have Bad Breath When Meeting the In-Laws

Monday, December 13th, 2010

So you’ve met “the one”- the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with. While this is amazing, the important event of meeting future or soon-to-be in-laws can be a very stressful experience.

There are the uncomfortable moments of silence, the awkward conversation and figuring out what you’re supposed to call them. On top of all of that, bad breath can really make this already stressful situation worse.

You only get one chance to make a first impression, and people with halitosis are often seen as having poor hygiene. This may infer a lack of respect for not only themselves but other people. The last thing you want is for the parents of your partner to think they are not worthy of their baby.

You will already have enough on your mind, so take the possibility of offending with your bad breath off the table. Make sure you are brushing, flossing and using a mouthwash regularly. Do a thorough job of brushing not only your teeth, but your tongue and the roof of your mouth as well.

If you are following a regular oral hygiene routine and are still having problems with your breath, consider trying our stronger TheraBreath PLUS line of oral care products. Want to whiten your teeth and have fresh breath? Try our TheraBrite line of products to safely and effectively whiten your teeth at home.

But most importantly, good luck and just be you. You’re honey digs you for a reason and his or her parents will most likely will too.

Bad Breath is the ‘Biggest Worry on Dates’

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

bad breath date

According to a survey, roughly eight out of 10 women say that bad breath is their biggest fear when going on a date.

The research showed that 78 percent of women were more likely to worry about their breath and teeth than what the person they were meeting thought of their general appearance.

A spokeswoman for Macleans, Miranda Honan, stated that “People’s impressions of us are heavily influenced by how healthy our teeth look when we smile and talk.”

“Our research shows that people make instant assumptions about your confidence and character dependent on how healthy your teeth are and how fresh your breath is.”

“If you always feel happy with your teeth you will smile, and if you smile more you will boost others’ perceptions of you. Then, in turn, other people will see you as more confident and attractive.”

Of course, in order to lessen these fears, people can take precautions like taking time out of their day to maintain good oral hygiene, including brushing their tongue, teeth, and gums, as well as flossing and rinsing.
