Bad Breath often Accompanies a Cold

Monday, June 27th, 2011

When the weather is funky like it has been, it’s not uncommon to get a cold or flu. As  unpleasant as a cold already is, did you know
that bad breath can also be the result of a cold?

The connection of feeling under the weather with a nasal cold and bad breath is one that has been known for some time now. For example, an 1889 in issue of The Clinical Reporter discusses catarrh which is now an unused term for the thick mucus that often accompanies a cold. The Clinical Reporter was a homeopathic medicine and surgery journal.

The report suggested using a mix of water, salt and peroxide to combat catarrh- the inflamed mucus membranes. The salt in the solution will clear up the mucus, while “the spray of peroxide will remove all odor and bad breath in most cases.” While the author had good intentions, we definitely don’t suggest you ingest peroxide, but he was on the right track. Instead, may we suggest visiting
your doctor to see what they recommend? If you are self-conscious about the smell from the mucus in your sinuses, definitely try our TheraBreath PLUS Nasal-Sinus Drops. It is a powerful formula that cleanses the throat and tonsil and can be used as often as you’d like.

If you want to go one step further, we would suggest trying either our Tonsil Stones Starter Kit or our Tonsil Stones Deluxe Kit. The Starter Kit has all of our powerful, natural formulas that will help clean up the mucus in your throat and tonsils. The Deluxe Kit not only has the nasal drops and throat spray but also comes with our Toothpaste and Oral Rinse – it truly has everything you need to keep the
foul odor in your throat and sinuses at bay.

When you’re under the weather, it definitely seems like your cold will never end. But fear not, while medicine may be necessary to fight the bugs, we’re got you covered with the products you need to keep your breath fresh while the rest of you recovers.

The Latest TheraBreath Blog Reviews and Giveaways

Shawn’s Sharings has done a review for TheraBreath in the past, and this time she’s telling all about our new Multi Symptom Probiotics. She has tons of information regarding the benefits of oral care probiotics, so you definitely want to stop by and read up. What did she like best about our seven day treatment? “It’s really easy to use and has so many benefits!” She’s also offering a box of our TheraBreath Mouth Wetting Lozenges to one of her giveaway winners. Go here to find out how to enter today.

Melissa Stuff tells all honestly in her review of our Multi Symptom Probiotics. “Obviously, it’s difficult to test the effectiveness of something that it created to ‘prevent’ issues from arising. You don’t really know if you would have had more ear aches or more sore throats had you not been taking it. But the positives were clear – great packaging, pleasant taste and no bad after taste. You’ll have to decide for yourself whether or not this product actually fulfills all of the claims” She’s absolutely right, prevention is hard to measure, but you don’t know unless you try it. Go here to read the rest – she also has a link to some of our coupons and is hosting a Lozenge giveaway.

Victoria’s Voice has also reviewed our Multi Symptom Probiotics and is hosting a Lozenges giveaway. She writes about her experience with the taste of the probiotics mixture: “I kind of expected a flavor that would make jump back and say “Blach!”  I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted the light citrus flavor, nor was it gritty as I expected.” We’re so glad to hear she liked the taste as much as we do. Click here to find out what she noticed after trying the seven day treatment, and to enter her giveaway. She’s a fan of our lozenges, “These are the best lozenges we have tried.  They are a big hit with the entire family!” Don’t you want to try some for yourself?

Garlic Breath and Onion Breath is Forbidden in Company Handbook

Monday, June 20th, 2011

Let’s face it; you spend a large amount of your time at work, surrounded by co-workers. If one or more of them has chronic bad breath, they can really be difficult to be around and work with. Even worse, it’s difficult to bring the subject up. What exactly do you do or say to this stinky mouthed person without hurting them or making things uncomfortable?

Well as we have discussed before in another post, you can send a virtual breath mint anonymously if you have their email address.  Just go here: and let us tell them for you.

One Swiss company decided to take things even further and prevent bad breath. According to the UK Daily Mail, the global banking firm UBS Aktiengesellschaft, has banned halitosis in their employee handbook. Specifically, the UBS states in its employee code of conduct that onion breath and garlic breath are unprofessional and strictly prohibited. The response has been divided on this unique measure.

The Latest TheraBreath Blog Reviews and Giveaways

David Boles has done his own review of our TheraBrite teeth whitening line on his blog RelationShaping. At the risk of sounding a bit biased, this is a really thorough, educational and entertaining review – definitely worth reading. Go here to read the entire thing and to learn more about David Boles. Just to give you a sneak peak, he covers the topics of medication, beverage choice and his initial difficulty with the whitening trays – but not to worry. “Luckily, the TheraBrite folk know you have to experience the gel tray folding onto itself to comprehend how fast you have to move with the pliable, hot, rubber tray to find success — and they include an extra tray — just because they know you’re going to ruin the first one.” On top of all of this, he is sure to let you know “I pay my own way to say that and I spend my own money” to review our products. If you’ve ever considered teeth whitening, definitely check out this review.

Do you know what life with 2 boys is like? If not, then head on over by clicking here to read Danielle’s TheraBreath review and giveaway. She took the time to review our TheraBreath’s Mouth-Wetting Lozenges, TheraBreath Oral Rinse, and Toothpaste. She proves the point that we are always trying to get across – strong, minty flavors in your oral care products doesn’t mean that they are working effectively. In her review she writes, “I was a little skeptical at first because I expected everything to be very minty and overpowering but I was wrong. The toothpaste and oral rinse have a mild minty flavor and are not over powerful at all!” One of the products was perhaps a bit too strong for her, but you’ll have to pay life with 2 boys a visit to find out which one.

Semmes Savers has posted its TheraBreath review and giveaway. Enter now for a chance to win a full size bottle of our oral rinse and a tube of our TheraBreath toothpaste. Tara breaks down her review of our oral rinse, lozenges and toothpaste with photos. Along with trying the products herself, she also had her husband try them out. She writes, “I really enlisted the hubby’s assistance in this review.  He smokes plus he talks a lot at work (he’s a supervisor) so I figured that he would really be able to help me in a lot of ways.  So, I had him use the products for a week and give me his thoughts to compile with mine so that I could give y’all not only my opinion on these products, but an actual review of how they work day to day.” What did they think? Head over to Semmes Savers to read for yourself.
