Don’t Have Bad Breath When Meeting the In-Laws

Monday, December 13th, 2010

So you’ve met “the one”- the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with. While this is amazing, the important event of meeting future or soon-to-be in-laws can be a very stressful experience.

There are the uncomfortable moments of silence, the awkward conversation and figuring out what you’re supposed to call them. On top of all of that, bad breath can really make this already stressful situation worse.

You only get one chance to make a first impression, and people with halitosis are often seen as having poor hygiene. This may infer a lack of respect for not only themselves but other people. The last thing you want is for the parents of your partner to think they are not worthy of their baby.

You will already have enough on your mind, so take the possibility of offending with your bad breath off the table. Make sure you are brushing, flossing and using a mouthwash regularly. Do a thorough job of brushing not only your teeth, but your tongue and the roof of your mouth as well.

If you are following a regular oral hygiene routine and are still having problems with your breath, consider trying our stronger TheraBreath PLUS line of oral care products. Want to whiten your teeth and have fresh breath? Try our TheraBrite line of products to safely and effectively whiten your teeth at home.

But most importantly, good luck and just be you. You’re honey digs you for a reason and his or her parents will most likely will too.

Smoking Does More than Give You Stinky Breath

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

We all know that smoking and using tobacco products are bad for us. Well, now there are another two smoking-related diseases we can add to the list – Alzheimer’s and dementia.

“New information reveals smoking threatens public health in late life, when people are already more likely to develop dementia” states examiner.com’s recent article on this topic. “Researchers say this really adds to the understanding that the brain is also susceptible to tobacco.”

Yes, it’s true that smoking is bad for your overall health. But what about your teeth, breath and mouth?  It’s not the actual smoking itself but smoking often causes Dry Mouth or Burning Tongue Syndrome. If your mouth is dry, that means that it isn’t producing enough saliva. Saliva is very rich in oxygen with makes it difficult for the anaerobic bacteria to produce sulfur – which is what causes bad breath.

Gum that is Actually Good for You

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

According to www.bigsiteofamazingfacts.com, about 35 billion sticks of gum are chewed by Americans each year. That’s twenty-five packets per year for each person (men, women and children) just in the United States.

An article by Science News for Kids states that gum chewing has been going on for thousands of years.  The Greeks, Mayas and Native Americans chewed on sap and resin from certain types of trees.

We all know that dentists recommend chewing sugar-free gum to avoid tooth decay. But why not chew a gum that can actually eliminate your bad breath instead of just covering it up? Therabreath’s Chewing Gum actually increases saliva production that is ideal for occasional or situation bad breath. This gum lasts much longer than regular chewing gum because the taste isn’t what is responsible for breath control – it’s the formula of the gum itself.

Want to be kissable 24/7? Then try our French Kiss Chewing Gum to immediately blast away bad breath and never have to give a second thought before you move in close to smooch your honey.

If gum isn’t your thing, then try our 9X Breath Strips that dissolve on your tongue, our ZOX Mints with our powerful oxidizing formula, or our new TheraBreath Mouth Wetting Lozenges to maintain great breath without all the chewing.
